When driving to Plitvice Lakes, you will probably use the Croatian motorways, which are mainly toll roads. But how much will this part of the trip cost? How much is the highway toll to Plitvice Lakes?
Free Highway
There is no toll road directly at the lakes. Route 1 brings you here from Karlovac (this is the most used route from Zagreb). However, this road is not tolled, so the use of the road is completely free on the last section up to the lakes.
Motorway Toll
Driving from Zagreb, you can use the motorway to the already mentioned Karlovac, so you also have to pay the motorway toll until then.
Zagreb – Karlovac motorway toll: €2.50
The prices were last updated in the spring of 2023 and refer to a passenger car. By clicking on the prices, the link will take you to the current price table of the Croatian motorway operator.
If you travel a lot to the lakes, or in Croatia at all, then it is advised to purchase a so-called ENC, Croatian electronic toll payment device. This not only makes paying the motorway tolls easier and faster–you don’t have to stop at the gates–but it also comes with a discount at least 20%. Thus using an ENC your motorway toll cost will also reduce.
