There are huge pay parking lots at both entrance 1 and 2 of Plitvice Lakes National Park. Beyond that, there is nowhere else to leave your car. Fortunately, these parking lots are big enough to find a free space even in the busiest season.
There is no place or opportunity to stop next to the national road leading to the park, and most of the neighboring accommodations are far enough to walk to. By the way, it would be quite dangerous to walk next to the road.
Local public transport, e.g. bus, is in the non-existent category over here. Although two bus stops are visible at the entrances, there is no description of when and what kind of bus would stop there. We tried to figure it out but gave up. Of course, you can also take a taxi from your accommodation, but parking for the whole day is not expensive, so it is worth leaving your car in the parking lots at the entrances.
The parking lots are opposite the entrances to the park, on the other side of the main road. You can reach the national park via a bridge from both parking lots.
Plitvice Lakes Parking Prices
In both parking lots of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, parking is paid for on an hourly basis. When you drive in, you get a ticket that you can use to pay at a machine or at a wooden booth before you drive out. Both cash and credit cards are accepted.
Parking fee at Plitvice Lakes National Park is 1 Euro per hour.
(The prices were last checked in March 2024)
Important!
Entrances 1 and 2 are too far apart to walk between them. There is no footpath between the two entrances, it is also dangerous to walk along the road. So always park at the entrance that your ticket is for.
Also for this reason, it is important to pay attention to leaving the park at the same exit, so you can easily find your way back to the parking lot.
Parking Inside Plitvice Lakes National Park
There are 2 hotels in the Park, Hotel Jezero and Hotel Plitvice. If you stay here, you can leave your car in the hotel’s own parking lot. From these hotels, you can reach the entrance in a few minutes on foot. Although these are not our favorite hotels, waking up in the park and walking in early the next morning was a really wonderful feeling.
Parking is actually 2 Euro per hour as at 5th September 2024
