Right from the moment we walked in, the ambiance of Hotel Palcich Restaurant had us hooked, even though it was the off-season with just a few people dining.
The decor is modern, stylish, and welcoming, creating a unique vibe. Offering a mix of excellent local and international cuisine, it’s an ideal spot for a meal with friends or family, a laid-back evening with a craft beer, or a lively wine tasting session. The staff are courteous and genuinely attentive, making you feel exceptionally looked after.
Their spacious terrace is perfect for enjoying a meal under the stars on a summer night or a warm spring afternoon. During cooler weather, the inviting interior offers a cozy retreat.
Often, the owner or manager would personally attend to us, taking our orders personally and suggesting fantastic food and wine pairings. His personal touch and genuine interest in our dining experience were evident. He checked in on us multiple times, not out of obligation, but with real dedication and care. His recommendations were spot-on, so definitely consider his advice. Below, we’ll share what we ate.

What We Ate at Hotel Palcich
On the personal recommendation of the owner/manager, we dove into our culinary adventure, and to say we were impressed would be an understatement.
Each dish was a masterpiece. Crafted by a chef of the highest caliber and paired with local wines, our dining experience rivaled those of the most celebrated restaurants.
The highlight was the roast venison loin accompanied by bacon-wrapped potatoes—a dish so exquisitely prepared, it set a new standard for perfection. The meat, tender, juicy and perfectly cooked, paired with a raisin sauce, brought a modern twist to a deeply traditional Central European flavor. If only this balance of tradition and modernity could be found more often at restaurants!
The fried local fish fillet, another main course, came with an onion and potato salad. This dish reminded us of the local culinary spirit, marrying traditional tastes with impeccable harmony.
Hotel Palcich’s restaurant truly stands out, not just for its inviting atmosphere and exceptional service, but for its brilliant fusion of modern and traditional, local and global gastronomy.
For dessert, we opted for a lava cake and an apple strudel. The lava cake was a hit. When it comes to this dessert, there’s only excellence or awfulness, nothing in between. And Hotel Palcich nailed this also.
The apple strudel, while more traditional and perhaps less remarkable compared to the rest of our meal, was still a delightful way to conclude our dining experience, served with vanilla ice cream for a classic touch.
